More Rainy Day Pages

The last week with the gray skies and dark rainy days I haven't had much energy
to sew or craft, but because I had organized my photos and papers I have done a few pages.

Hope you all have had a good productive week:)

Spring/Summer Room Spruce up

I love my den/coffee room with its warm colors and cozy feel, but when spring comes it starts

to feel a little dark and in need of a mini makeover.
This year I decided to change out the curtains from rust to some tan ones w/ white lining that buttons back to show the white more. These are curtains I've had for years but because they are from Pottery Barn they last forever!

Then I changed out the branches and berries for white and yellow tulips, (silk of course).

I also took out the dark paisley pillows and plush rug. These green pillows and a white and tan rag rug complete the fresh look.

With the late afternoon sunshine streaming in it feels like a whole new room and a breath of fresh air.

Extra Color Challenge?!

If any of you color challengers are up for it there is an extra week this month...so I thought we'd add in a new category for anyone who can join in.

Week #5 Challenge

Put together an outfit (shopped from your closets) for you or someone else using the color yellow. You can take a pic of the outfit alone or modeled by the person who would wear it.

This could be a challenge, because a lot of us don't think we look good in yellow...sounds fun though!

You up for it?

Yellow Challenge #4

Here is my Yellow Recipe.

Key Lime White Chocolate Cheesecake Bars

24 Oreos (I used Gluten Free chocolate K-Toos, a GF oreo type cookie)
1/4 C. butter melted
Crush cookies and add butter. Press into an 8x8 pan and chill

8 oz Cream cheese
3 T. sugar
3 T. Key Lime Juice
4 oz white chocolate, melted
1 c. Cool whip

Mix cream cheese, sugar, and key lime juice, until thoroughly blended. Add white chocolate and mix well. Stir in cool whip gently. Spoon over oreo crust and refrigerate for 2 hrs. Cut into squares to serve.

Note: Key lime juice is from a special lime that has yellow juice. It is very tart and has a unique flavor.

A Week of Sunshine

I was so blessed to be able to spend last week with my husband on the panhandle of Florida!
The weather was perfect, so was the beach, the food was Southern which I LOVE!

The houses were painted in beautiful colors and named cute things like"Better than Chocolate", "Cherry on Top", "Lemon Drop", "Latitude Adjustment", "Mamas Happy" etc.

It was so wonderful that neither of us ever wanted to come home:) We just wanted our family to join us and stay another week...or a year...I especially loved all the use of color in that area of the USA as my year is focused on the color challenges every month. The name of the resort we stayed at was "Water*Color"...do you think I might have picked it for its name?
