New Space

I have moved to a new space
at Rusty Glamour.
It's actually right next door to
where I was before and is just a tad
bigger.
I covered the walls in muslin strips
and added my new sign
and the same banners...
I'm loving it!

A Country Drive

Today I needed to go and renew my
spirit and revive joy in my heart.
Nature always does that for me
because it speaks so clearly of
The Creator.
I did a loop in the car with my camera
down the country roads east of town
Driving slowly and letting the spendor
of this fall day
ease away the worries and sadness
I can't see what is around the next bend
in the road, but if I watch carefully
I will catch a glimpse of the
One who goes before me...

I returned with
a quietness in my soul.

Upcycled Sweat shirt

I found a sweatshirt my son
no longer wanted and realized it
was really soft and comfy.
There was also another shirt in the
giveaway bin I thought I could use.
From these 2 shirts, fabric from my stash
and some zippers I got at a yard sale
 I created this...
the best feature was one I didn't plan.
When I sewed the zipper trim on the cuffs
 it made a ruffle:)

Gluten Free Tea Experience

This week I had an enjoyable experience
going with a group of ladies for tea
at Myrtles Tea Shop in Ridgefield.
The best part was that with 48 hour notice
they can accomodate special
dietary needs so I was able,
for the first time in 5 years, go for
tea and have it be gluten free!
They did a marvelous presentation
of the food and all the GF items were
very good.
I would highly recommend the shop!

Gluten Free Fall Baking

 Spice cookies w/ Pumpkin Kisses
Spice Blossom Cookies

 Cinnamon Rolls

Caramel Apple Cake
chunky caramel apple cake

All 3 were good in their own way
and as with most things GF they are
best when fresh.
I modified regular recipes
for the cake and cookies
(see links)
and tried a recipe from a friend for the
cinnamon rolls.

Boo!

Here's a super easy project I did
with some blocks of wood
I bought at a garage sale,
painted, and mod podged.
The runner was for sale at RG.

Greek Gyros

This was a great, light meal
and though I had to have mine on rice
not a pita bread, it was a hit with
my son who said it was "delicioso"
I'm linking up with Aimee
at

I started by marinating the chicken tenders
in Kens Greek salad dressing.
I fried the onions but
they are really supposed to be raw.
The chicken can be grilled or cooked in hot fry pan

Tzatziki Sauce
1/2c. cucumber grated
1 tsp. sea salt
1 c. plain Greek yogurt
1/4 c. sour cream
1 T. lemon juice
1/2 T. rice vinegar
1 tsp. olive oil
1 clove garlic
1 T. chopped dill
1 T. chives chopped
1 T. Mrs. Dash Lemon seasoning
salt and pepper to taste

Toss cucumber with salt and let sit
at least 5 mins. Squeeze out excess water.
Mix all ingred. together and refrigerate
at least 1 hour to blend flavors.

Warm Pita bread in microwave or on grill.
Layer hummus, chicken, onions,
 olives, lettuce, tomatoes,
Feta cheese and Tzatziki sauce.
Fold pita in half or roll up.
Enjoy!

New Sign for my Space

My space at Rusty Glamour
has had a sign up
with Polka-dots & Posies
as the name, however,
as that was really the name for
my kids clothes business
(which I don't sell there)
I decided to use my blog
name as my new business name.
I used a piece of wood, painted and aged it
then added some embellishments
and the name.
I really love how it turned out and
it seems to have the essence of what
I sell and who I am:)
