Church Trip

Saturday was a beach day for us 7 adults
and 30 teens (who are spending these 2 weeks
being confirmed into our church.)
It's a joy to say that each and every one
of them was happy, pleasant and
obedient the whole time:)
God Bless you!

Red Challenge #4

My red challenge #4 is
raspberry pancakes.
I used fresh raspberries as you
would blueberries in a buttermilk
pancake recipe and then added
fresh berries and whip cream
on top!
They were good, but definitely more
tart than blueberry pancakes.

Silver and Gold

"Make new Friends but keep the old,
one is silver and the other gold!" Our annual summer trip with long time friends!

Enjoying the relaxation of settling into
easy conversation, sharing our hearts,
laughing, taking time to reconnect
and recollect....

The best of everything,
all in one weekend.

Thanks for the memories!

Completed Room Redo

The guestroom is finally finished!
I'm really pleased with how it turned out
as it is restful and serene.
Also I was able to incorporate many
of my thrift store and vintage flea finds. Vintage bucket as trash can.My vintage typewriter is on the desk
and worked well to leave a welcome note for
my first guest:)
The desk turned out really well and looks tranquil...
perfect for writing letters home or a novel:)

The couch is a hide-a-bed so when its folded
out it actually can look cozy.
The window is a purchase from
Main St. Station.

This cupboard was in another room
but went with this decor nicely.
The curtains are made of old seed sacks
cut in half and written on with fabric pen.
I used random words printed at all angles.
This is the desk wall,
with a variety of fun finds:)
I only have one more project to do but
it has to wait for some cold rainy day
when I'm in the mood for painting.
Done for now!

Red Challenge #2

My red craft this week was a restructure of
a pair of capri jeans.
I cut off a few inches on the bottom,
pleated some fabric and sewed it on each leg.
Then I made a sash of the same fabric that could be
used for a belt or as a head band/scarf.

The only question I have is if a woman of my age
should wear this. What do you think, is
it more of a teen look?

How to say Goodbye?

This was a hard day for me.
One of my very dearest friends is
moving away.
How do I say goodbye to someone
who was the other half of "the team"
with Ladies Bible study for so many years,
who wore out my coffee table with
me as we knelt around it
to pray and cry and laugh?
She always had a positive word
on the tough days
and challenged me to grow as a
person, spiritually and socially.
It was a true blessing straight from God's
hand that our paths crossed and she
was given to me as a grace note.
When it came time to say goodbye
I couldn't formulate the right words.
There was no gift that I could come up with
or treasure I could make to say what
it is to have known her...
So this will have to suffice...
Thank you, Karon,
you have been a field of wild flowers
that has bloomed so beautifully
inside the fence of my life.
May the seeds you planted
bloom always in my heart.

Red Challenge #1

I had so many photos I wanted to put in my collage
that I decided there are too many things
I like in red, and I better keep it simple!
Hope you are all having a good week!

Red, White and Blue Challenge

Here's my challenge!
I used scrapbook papers cut into triangles,
cut out stars from an old song book,
and strung it together with twine.
It could be used as a banner anywhere,
but I liked it on a white table cloth
hung along the front edge.
