One Year Birthday

The month has flown by and I still haven't posted
Beckham's
one year birthday!
I did a Camping Theme
With a tent and campfire cake...
The cutest bear ever for the don't feed the bears sign...
 Lanterns, sticks and pinecones.
The birthday boy did not think it appropriate to
eat with his fingers,
he requested a fork and carefully
ate one forkful at a time!
His older brother however put his whole
face on top of a s'more bar
and had marsh mallows stuck to his face:)

My Sunshine Boy

Beckham is my 3rd Grandchild
and he is such a snuggly, love.
When he hears my voice or sees me
he goes into a frenzy trying to
make me notice him and pick him up!
Precious, precious blessings!

Busy Xs Three

It is crunch time...
3 houses being made ready all
at once, 2 move in dates for all 3
and me going back and forth between
them all, with new grand baby and paint
and cupboards the wrong color and
redoing them and packing up treasures
and sore backs and refinishing furniture...
but as a friend pointed out to me today
God knows what we need and I am busy
right now in these good ways because
it holds back the sorrow and the pain.
Really, it eases, not holds back
for in the labor of helping my children in
this way I bring back tender memories
of my own parents serving me,
so they are closer and the loneliness
of single life fades away.

Oldest to Youngest

Life keeps moving on!
I have a new grandson, a beautiful
tiny little person who came to
steal more of Grandmas heart.
Here he is with my oldest grandchild-
my only grand-daughter so far.
She is a natural mommy already at 5
and loves to help with babies

Sweetest Smiles

My littlest grandson is
6 months old already!
He is so happy to see me
and gets so excited when he gets
to be with me.
He is the cutest, snuggliest
happiest 6 month old boy
and it was so fun to do his pics.
I did them in the garage again which worked
well especially as I purchased a space
heater so he stayed warm!

It was so cute when we put a mirror
by him and he could see himself!

Christmas Day 2013

It came
It went
It's over for another year...

The sign above was given to me by my son and his wife
who apparently know me well!

Catch Lights in Her Eyes

I used a great idea that I found on Pinterest,
in which, as an indoor studio you
use your garage with the door open.
This is where I did my 5 year old
grand daughters' photo shoot.
I was able to catch the light in her eyes
as the lighting was great.
We just had to go in and warm up every few minutes
as it was in the low 20s that day.
She was a delight to work with
and came up with creative ideas for
ways to pose;)

The back drop is a sheet that I covered in ruffles
and the floor in the top photo is strips of
pine paneling I painted to look weathered.

The Trials of Childhood

Okay, here's the deal
I tried to do family pics for my daughter...
tried being the operative word!
Mr. 2 year old was grumpy
Mr. 4 month old got sad and cold
Miss almost 5 year old was marvelous
Dad and Mom were feeling overwhelmed maybe!
This is the last one I took:)
I think you can see what I mean!
What would people think if she sent this one
out in Christmas cards?
I bet she'd get a lot of laughs...

3 Month Photo Shoot

Funny how even babies know
that the minute the camera comes out
they should quit being happy and start crying!
I did my grandsons 3 month photos
and he just did not enjoy it very much...
especially one area of the yard,
every time we put him out there
he melted into tears but he liked
the porch, go figure, so we did them all there.
Unfortunately the light wasn't the best there.

But he is so cute it really doesn't matter and I got
some that show his personality.

Memory Bears

There were two little girls,
 taken young to heaven
who left us here to mourn them,
one at 3 and one at 7.
Gone to be with Jesus many years
apart,
but always and forever in their
Mama's heart.
In boxes in a closet now that
she is gone,
we find the memories packed with love
and tears
and nighttime song.
From those sisters, one I never knew,
and one I saw go home
I chose a dress to keep them close
and remind me of my mom,
who never ceased to long for them
through many many years.
And from those little dresses came these
memory bears.

In memory of Pauline, age 3- the plaid bear
In memory of Janet, age 7- the blue bear
In memory of Mom who loved and never forgot

Lovingly and beautifully crafted by
my dear cousin Emma.

She used the buttons, collars, lace and zipper
 along with the dress fabric.
( the embroidery on the feet was done by Janet
on a piece of white fabric
and found in the boxes too)

Tractor Birthday Party

Pierce had his 2nd birthday party
and he LOVES tractors so that was
the theme!
However he was not thrilled with the party itself
and being the center of attention...
he just wanted to play with his tractor!!

2 Year Old Photo Shoot

Pierce is going to be 2
next week and I got to be
 photographer for his pictures.
2 year olds move very fast
from one activity to the next
and I was kept hopping!

He is such a happy boy and so excited about
everything that it was a lot of fun to do.
