A Few Pages

I had a few hours to scrapbook with
my sis-in-law this week.
Both ideas are from Creating Keepsakes
magazine.

Playroom Mural etc.

I'm continuing to work on getting the
Playroom up and running.
I took a bulletin board I already had...
Painted the frame dark brown, and added a
paper banner and butterflies.
My grand daughter said
"So Pretty! You make it for me?"

Then I painted a floor to ceiling mural on one wall
Using my Cricut I cut out paper leaves
to add some dimension and then
strung a paper banner.
The tree was an inspiration from
Pottery Barn Kids.
Brielle immediately tried to climb it!
I hope a tree in a playroom won't
be a bad idea!

I'm linking up at Delightful Order
for the Thursday Party again!

Playroom Thrifty Finds

I've been on the look out for some
items I can use in the playroom
and found this vintage doll bed.
It was strongly made, but in need of
some TLC!
So I painted as well as I could over
such old crackled paint,
used my Cricut and Mod Podge
to add a tree of scrap paper, and
sewed a sheet to use over a standard size pillow
that works perfectly as a mattress.
I also found a doll high chair that only
needed a good washing.
Here's the finished product-

Easter Dinner

Here are some photos of our family
dinner on Easter.
Table Decor
I made the tree from a branch which I put in
a vintage bucket and then decorated
with paper flowers and tags.
The eggs in the wire stand are real, they
happened to be just the right colors!
I did a baked potato bar
with toppings and instructions on how
to make an Irish sundae
like they have at the Fair.
For dessert we had a meringue shell
with chocolate whip cream and berries.
I also set up a salad bar with all the toppings
to make a special salad we call the
Copper River,
from the restaurant of the same name.
It has a combo of honey mustard
and hot bacon dressing! Yum!

Completed Craft Room

My Craft Room is completely
Organized,
Prettified,
and Good to go!

I was able to use my banners from the
Spring Tea as a nice festive accent,
finally found wonderful wire locker baskets
for my fabric, and a metal dress form to inspire
my sewing! I'm so happy with it and
it feels like a whole new room mostly
because of the organizing and clearing out
of unwanted junk!

Some new projects are coming up
because I have another empty room

So I'm going to make it into a playroom
for my grand kids.
These 12x12 canvas' were done
with my Cricut, scrapbook paper and the
"Straight from the Nest" cartridge.

New Life

"My soul longs, yes, even faints
for the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself.
Where she may lay her young--"
Psalm 84:2-3

Uncovered Ruby Challenge

One of my favorite stores in Battleground is
Uncovered Ruby.
they are putting on a challenge to see how the items
we purchase there are being put to use.
Here is my photo shoot of a future event in the works.
I purchased the clipboard chalkboard at a
and the red "apple" basket
and red "shreds" at the store last week.
If you haven't been there I would highly recommend a
visit (it's on Main street!)
and to attend a Vintage Gathering this
spring and summer.

Sometimes I Really ...

don't like having to live Gluten Free!
Let me explain...
I carefully read ingredients, ask questions at
restaurants, make separate suppers for
myself, never cheat on my lifetime "diet",
and lo and behold, somehow
a sneaky molecule or two of gluten gets in my food
and I am SICK...for 4-5 days or sometimes a week.
The worst part is that I didn't even cheat and have
something I really wanted to eat
like a warm piece of sourdough bread,
or a cake pop, or a croissant, or a a cinnamon roll-
That's what I'm dealing with today and have been
since Friday night...
The only cure...time...
so I exist on a plain rice diet until
further notice!

Spring Spruce Up

Here's my project for this Thursdays'
link up over at Delightful Order.
I had seen a similar idea for these pillow shams
(on hand towels) @ Pottery Barn
but I made these myself
from ticking to go with my spring look.
I really like to keep our bedroom light
and airy for the next 6 months
so I keep things neutral.

Ode to My Favorite Food

I have to say it...I LOVE Peanut Butter!
On my bagel at breakfast,
in my hot chocolate,
in my cookies, candy and on my brownies,
and the best thing of all...
IN MY COFFEE!
At Brewed Awakening Coffee
I allow myself one
Peanut Butter Coffee Cooler
a week
and every rich and creamy sip is like
drinking all my fave things through a straw:)

Celebration Spring Tea

What a fun time we had today at the
Spring Tea Party!
These ladies have been the greatest support and
prayer warriors for me and my family in
the past months and I wanted to
bless their socks off!!!

I enjoyed the preparation and planning...
I made bags for each lady to put on the back of their chair
and a burlap banner, fabric rosettes, burlap
table runner, and handmade gifts.
We had all the yummy tea tidbits
and some hysterical laughs when
we were taking the silly photos:)
Thank you dear friends,
May you be blessed in all ways
always!!!
