New Look in the Booth

I've been working hard to get
a lot of new items into my booth
at Rusty.
It was a super fun way to create
and I love the little bit country,
little bit rock and roll:)

New Projects

I have been very inspired lately
by ideas for my booth.
Not sure if the customers will be as
excited as I am...
but I can hope.
This was a very ugly canvas of a flower
that I got at a sale.
Loved painting over it and starting fresh with
this look and color.
The horse is an American Girls size
but I painted it and glittered and glammed it up!

Prairie Aprons

I am in love with my new apron designs!
I call them Prairie aprons and
will be selling them in Rusty G.

The one above I used a vintage napkin for the
front and also a ruffled piece on the side
which doesn't show in the picture.

Redone Chair

There were 2 of these chairs
which sat in upstairs rooms at
my folks home.
When we emptied their house they came to me.
 Below is the new look.
For some reason I had the stain bleed
through the chalk paint which
has never happened before...strange!
So some of the areas had a faint pink tinge:)
Also finally got the last cart from my garage
lined and into
the shop where it sold promptly.

Raggy-baggy Elves

I've finished up 3 sets of
funny elves for the Christmas
sales/season.
They are sewn with the edges
unfinished so I named them
Raggy-Baggy Elves.

They ended up being quite tedious to sew
as the parts are all so small:)

Baby Beds

With the Christmas season
coming very quickly it is time to start getting
things into the store for little people
and also for the Artisan Fair which
will be held November 22/23.
I had collected up several
doll beds to sell as photo props
but those which haven't sold I am
revamping for original use.

I still think little girls need dolly beds, don't you?

Using up Frames

With the downsizing I've been doing I
ended up with stacks of frames from family pictures
which I no longer have wall space to display.
So I have been trying to come up with creative uses.
I have made the larger ones into
chalkboards but the small ones
were a little harder to think up ideas.
Finally I got busy with some paper and
embellishments and here are some
that I came up with.

So far they have been selling well
at Rusty G and I'm planning to have
some for the Artisan Fair later this year also.

A Vintage Gathering 2013

Our little town was a hopping place
this past weekend
as the vendors set up and the shopping began.

Gorgeous Junk and great prices!
If you didn't make it this time
another one is scheduled for September.

To Market, To Market

Our Downtown is hosting
Vintage Gathering
(See Post)
this weekend, so I got busy and
did the linings on some market carts
I've picked up. Hopefully
some "picker" will want a cute
market cart for shopping.
These would be awesome
for a farmers market cart also.

And here are a few other projects for sale.

It's that time of year again!

This is my garage after a very
successful day of garage sales!
Won't be parking in there anytime soon!

Painting and sanding,
washing and scrubbing...
I love it!

Garage Sale-For Sale

I sure have been enjoying this years
season of Garage sales.
I know a lot more about what sells
at Rusty Glamour so I'm trying to be
more careful and think through my purchases
before I buy and also how much $
it will cost to upcycle, so I'm sure to
make a profit on all my items.
Here are some new ones that just
went in the shop.
The piece of fabric above only required
one side to be cut and the bottom
pockets sewed on, it fit perfectly on the
bulletin board!

The technique on the bottles and holders is the
faux zinc with Annie Sloan wax and paint.
This is a lined bicycle basket:)

How Many Ways can I use Canning Jars?

I've been using canning jars in so many
ways for the items I sell.
I guess it's because it's that time of year
when a person thinks about preserving
all the fresh fruits and veggies.
However I don't do that!
I use them in every other way though...
 Storage, candles, twine holder
The red candles are in jars inside a canning holder
I painted white.
All these are for sale at Rusty G
