Yellow Challenge #3 ( a week early)

I'm heading on vacation for a week:) so I'm posting my unusual yellow challenge early. I found this very tiny miniskirt at the Goodwill and knew instantly what I'd do with it. When I went to pay I felt I had to explain to the cashier that I wasn't going to wear it, just make something out of it! She looked at me like"Yah, sure! you think you're a teeny bopper don't you."
Then I found some fabric and home dec sample pieces @ Joann...sewed the bottom shut above the ruffle...added a handle and belt....buttons...

This is the top detail...

And it is lined with the flowered fabric that was used to make the belt and bow.

Here is the finished bag! It even has 4 ready made pockets on the back and front for cell phone, keys etc. I ended up liking it even more than I thought I would, because the added blues of the fabrics and embellishments took it from blah yellow to sweet and summery.

And by the way its never too late to join the Color My World Challenge! http://madisonsavenue-madison.blogspot.com/ has just joined us, welcome Madison:)
