The Trials of Childhood

Okay, here's the deal
I tried to do family pics for my daughter...
tried being the operative word!
Mr. 2 year old was grumpy
Mr. 4 month old got sad and cold
Miss almost 5 year old was marvelous
Dad and Mom were feeling overwhelmed maybe!
This is the last one I took:)
I think you can see what I mean!
What would people think if she sent this one
out in Christmas cards?
I bet she'd get a lot of laughs...

Raggy-baggy Elves

I've finished up 3 sets of
funny elves for the Christmas
sales/season.
They are sewn with the edges
unfinished so I named them
Raggy-Baggy Elves.

They ended up being quite tedious to sew
as the parts are all so small:)

What Paint can Do

This dresser was painted white with a yellow, blue
and 2 teal drawers when I bought it at a sale.
This is how it looks now after a coat of
Annie Sloan Old White with clear and dark wax
over the drawers and top.
People ask about sanding...
I never sand anything before painting
with Annie Sloan paint.
I only sand very lightly after the final coat
and by lightly, I mean barely at all. The
finish is a buttery soft feel.
I am truly sold on this product!

Wedding Decor #3

This last wedding of the fall
that I decorated for was for my
Sister- in- laws first child getting married.
It took place at our church which
has seating for 500+ and a 90 ft. aisle
so it takes a bit of ingenuity
and a LOT of help to get it whipped
into shape and ready for nuptials.
I think it turned out really pretty though.

The log benches were lovingly made by the groom
and the cedar boards on tables and the cupcake
tower by the father of the bride:)
Because the tables were covered in brown paper
they supplied crayons too for kids and other
creative folks.
